Start with Minnesota, or choose a neighboring state. Results are retrieved from U.S. Department of Education directories made available by the Urban Institute's Education Data Portal. Search the loaded results by school name or city. Each result also offers a short school history when a matching Wikipedia article is available.

NCES Public School SearchA campus tour, an orientation, a graduation, a parent visit or a student move can involve more than finding a school name. Visitors may need to compare a campus address with regional airports, local transit, intercity bus stations, lodging and neighboring communities.
For a college in Marshall, Duluth, Rochester or St. Cloud, for example, the final portion of a journey may be quite different from travel within Minneapolis or Saint Paul. The same applies to regional campuses in Wisconsin, the Dakotas and Iowa.
Check the institution's official visitor information, accessibility policies, parking rules, event schedule and campus-specific transportation directions before traveling.
The school and college directories are provided by the Urban Institute Education Data Portal, using the U.S. Department of Education's Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and Common Core of Data (CCD). Always verify current details with the institution or state agency.
Individual school histories, where available, are short, attributed Wikipedia summaries matched to the institution name. Schools without a confirmed match show a search option rather than an unrelated article. The state education background uses the Wikipedia API and is identified as third-party reference material. This page does not collect student records, determine school quality, provide legal advice, or represent an educational institution.
If an API cannot be reached, the page reports the problem instead of displaying invented data. No API keys are stored in this page.
