Taxi Minnesota Pre-arranged passenger transportation across Minnesota
Northwest Minnesota / Norman County

The bus got you to Moorhead. Who gets you home?

You're headed toward Ada, Halstad, Twin Valley or a rural address miles beyond the bus terminal. Your ticket covered the bus ride, but the last stretch of the trip still needs transportation.

Taxi Minnesota helps travelers plan eligible rural pickups, longer-distance trips, airport connections, and transportation between northwest Minnesota communities.

Prearranged transportation is available by accepted reservation. Standard service hours are 4 AM–10 PM. Trips outside those hours must be scheduled and prepaid in advance. Availability and arrival times are not guaranteed.

Rural Travel Planning

Rural Minnesota isn't always the last stop on the schedule.

A bus station, train depot or rideshare drop-off may be many miles from the actual place you're going. Rural transportation needs to be arranged before that final connection becomes a problem.

Taxi Minnesota focuses on prearranged transportation for people who need to travel beyond a single neighborhood. That includes travelers going to smaller communities, rural homes, hotels, airports, regional employers and transportation terminals.

Whether you're visiting family outside Twin Valley, returning from a business trip near Ada, or trying to coordinate a pickup near Halstad, the first step is submitting your actual location and destination.

A Realistic Example “My Greyhound arrived, but my family lives on a gravel road outside Ada.”

Imagine arriving in Moorhead after a long bus journey. Your destination is a farmhouse outside Ada, and it's getting dark.

You open Uber or Lyft, but no nearby driver accepts the request. Rural areas can have fewer active rideshare drivers because demand is spread across larger distances.

Planning your Minnesota-side pickup ahead of time is more dependable than assuming an on-demand vehicle will be available. When your pickup originates outside Minnesota, Taxi Minnesota cannot accept that pickup; eligible Minnesota-origin trips can instead arrange drop-offs at the terminal.

Don't get stranded. Plan ahead.
Bus Stations / Rail / Transfer Planning

Where regional transportation connects — and where it doesn't.

Norman County travelers frequently depend on larger regional transportation hubs. Your arriving bus or train does not automatically provide service to your final rural address.

Plan the complete trip, not just the first ticket.

Check the exact boarding or arrival point on your carrier's ticket. A Fargo stop and a Moorhead stop are not interchangeable, and Taxi Minnesota only accepts eligible pickups originating in Minnesota.

01
Moorhead Greyhound Stop Comstock Memorial Union area, 14th Street South, Moorhead, Minnesota. Verify the carrier's current boarding instructions before traveling.
02
Fargo Amtrak Station 420 4th Street North, Fargo, North Dakota. Empire Builder passenger train connection. Minnesota-origin drop-offs may be requested; Fargo pickups are not accepted.
03
Fargo Bus Station 1211 41st Street North, Fargo, North Dakota. Confirm the ticketed terminal before leaving Norman County.
04
Norman County Communities Ada, Twin Valley, Halstad, Gary, Hendrum and other county towns are not substitutes for a verified intercity boarding station.
The Rural Rideshare Gap

What if Uber or Lyft isn't available?

Rideshare coverage varies with active driver supply. Drivers are less likely to remain near small communities when requests are infrequent. No vehicle showing in an app doesn't necessarily mean the service is prohibited in that town.

Scheduled Connections

Going from Norman County to a terminal?

Eligible Minnesota-origin trips can be reviewed for transportation to Moorhead, Fargo, airports and other destinations. The carrier ticket and the vehicle booking are separate arrangements.

Winter Arrivals

Don't plan to wait outside.

Northwest Minnesota winters can turn an otherwise ordinary connection into a difficult travel day. Select a safe, permitted meeting location and confirm pickup details before departing.

Norman County Places & Experiences

Not every journey begins at an airport.

Fairgrounds, outdoor recreation, celebrations and family visits create transportation demand throughout the county. These examples show why advance arrangements matter in rural areas.

Ada / County Events

Norman County Raceway & Fairgrounds

Traveling for Thursday-night racing, a fair, or a regional gathering? Arrange the return ride before the event ends, especially if staying in another town.

Twin Valley / Recreation

Heiberg Park & Campground

A riverfront camping destination near the Wild Rice River. Visitors without a personal vehicle should establish their transportation plans before arriving with luggage or camping gear.

Gary / Outdoor Travel

Gary Pines

The forest, trails and nearby countryside bring visitors outside the larger cities. A remote recreation destination is not a guaranteed rideshare pickup point.

Ada

Prairie Village Museum

Norman County history and local heritage offer another reason to visit Ada. Request appropriate passenger transportation to or from eligible county locations.

Ada

Ada Motel & Lodging

Visiting family, working locally or attending an event may require an overnight stay. Confirm your hotel reservation independently and arrange your ride around check-in or departure.

Golf & Celebrations

Heart of the Valley Golf Course

Rural golf outings, wedding guests and special occasions can require longer trips between accommodations and venues. Advanced bookings are encouraged.

Rural townships and unincorporated addresses

Norman County includes 24 civil townships in addition to its cities and unincorporated communities. Service is not restricted to downtown addresses.

The reservation form should include your complete pickup address, township or nearest community, and any safe access instructions. Driver availability, travel distance, road conditions and scheduling requirements determine whether the request can be accepted.

For rural homes, farms and seasonal properties, do not rely on a nearby city name alone. Use the actual pickup address so the correct location can be reviewed.

Everyday Transportation Situations

Four trips that require more than opening a rideshare app.

The following are illustrative travel scenarios, not customer testimonials. Each reflects a practical transportation challenge in rural northwest Minnesota.

01

The Ada wedding guest

You're staying in Ada, but the celebration is outside town. The ceremony ends after sunset, and there is no shuttle back. Arranging both directions in advance helps avoid being stranded at the venue.

02

The Twin Valley campground visitor

A friend drops you near Heiberg Park. Two days later, you need to reach a regional bus connection. Planning the departure before arriving is more reliable than depending on an available driver at checkout.

03

The Halstad business traveler

Your meetings finish in the afternoon. You need to reach an airport or terminal outside the county. A scheduled longer trip can be reviewed around your meeting and departure time.

04

The winter rural pickup

Snow and limited highway visibility create uncertainty near Gary or Borup. Transportation should be requested ahead of time with flexibility for weather, driver availability and changing road conditions.

Airport Connections From Norman County

A flight departure requires a ground transportation plan.

Travelers leaving Norman County may use regional or larger airports depending on their route. Ground transportation must be considered separately from airline bookings.

Regional Airport

Hector International Airport — Fargo

Fargo, North Dakota. Eligible Minnesota-origin airport drop-offs may be requested in advance. Taxi Minnesota does not accept pickups originating in North Dakota.

Regional Airport

Grand Forks International Airport

Another regional flight option in North Dakota. Arrange qualifying Minnesota-side departures and review flight details before confirming.

Long-Distance Airport

Minneapolis–Saint Paul International

Longer-distance airport transportation may be reviewed from eligible Norman County pickup addresses. Travel time can increase substantially during winter weather and road closures.

Planning around your flight

Include the departure airport, airline, scheduled flight time, passenger count, luggage and complete pickup address. Do not use a fixed travel-time estimate as a guarantee, especially in winter.

Local Institutions & Trip Purposes

Transportation for the practical reasons people travel.

Ada / Healthcare

Essentia Health–Ada

Transportation for eligible independent passengers visiting healthcare facilities may be requested. Taxi Minnesota is not a medical transport or wheelchair transportation provider.

County Business

Government & Court Appointments

County office visits, administrative appointments and scheduled meetings may require transportation from smaller communities to Ada or other regional destinations.

Agriculture & Employment

Worksite & Rural Business Trips

Agricultural operations and rural employers may be located away from city centers. Business travel requests should provide the full worksite address and accurate pickup time.

Norman County Transportation Questions

Before you request a ride.

Can I request a taxi in Ada, Minnesota?

Yes. Eligible passenger transportation requests can be submitted for Ada and nearby rural destinations. Trips require review and acceptance; a vehicle is not guaranteed on demand.

Does Taxi Minnesota serve Twin Valley and Halstad?

These communities are included in our Norman County service-area planning. Availability depends on the requested trip, advance notice and driver coverage.

Can you pick me up from Fargo, North Dakota?

No. Taxi Minnesota accepts pickups originating in Minnesota only. Eligible trips originating in Minnesota can request a drop-off in Fargo or another out-of-state destination.

Why might Uber or Lyft not show a driver?

Rideshare availability is influenced by supply and demand. Small communities may have fewer nearby drivers because trip requests occur less frequently and driving distances are greater.

Can I get a guaranteed same-minute pickup?

No. Driver locations and travel distances vary. An immediate request may be reviewed, but actual pickup timing cannot be promised before dispatch confirmation.

Are transportation requests accepted overnight?

Transportation outside the standard 4 AM–10 PM service window must be prescheduled and prepaid. Service remains subject to an accepted booking and available driver coverage.

Can I request transportation for a rural farm?

You may submit the complete address for review. Rural route accessibility, roadway conditions, distance and dispatch availability are considered before confirming service.

Do you offer wheelchair-accessible vehicles?

Taxi Minnesota is not a wheelchair-accessible or medical transportation provider. Passengers must be able to travel independently within the company's standard passenger-service requirements. Service animals are welcome.

How do I reserve transportation?

Visit the online reservation center, provide the complete trip information and follow the booking instructions. A submitted request is not a confirmed reservation until accepted.
