Instant Digital Pricing
Customers will be able to enter their trip information and receive digital pricing before completing the booking process when instant pricing is available.
Taxi Minnesota is developing a faster digital booking experience designed to connect customers and available drivers in real time. Customers will be able to request a ride, receive digital pricing, see the driver's estimated arrival time, and follow the ride-dispatch process from one system.
The Taxi Minnesota digital booking and driver application are under development. Current transportation requests should continue through the existing reservation system until the digital platform is activated.
New transportation request available.
The new system is being designed to reduce the time between a customer requesting transportation and an available driver receiving the trip.
Customers will be able to enter their trip information and receive digital pricing before completing the booking process when instant pricing is available.
Once a driver accepts the request, the booking system will provide the estimated arrival time of the assigned driver.
Available drivers can receive a new ride request directly through the driver application and respond without waiting for a traditional manual dispatch process.
Airport reservations can include airport, airline, terminal, passenger, pickup, and destination information within the digital trip record.
The platform is being developed around Taxi Minnesota's scheduled transportation model, including airport, rural, city-to-city, and long-distance requests.
Trip details can remain connected to the reservation, including customer information, vehicle selection, requested time, destination, payment method, and dispatch status.
The planned booking system will combine customer booking and driver dispatch into one digital process.
The customer enters pickup, destination, requested time, passengers, airport information when applicable, and the vehicle category.
When automatic pricing is available for the requested trip, the system can present the price digitally before the request is completed.
The driver application will display the incoming ride request in a fast dispatch format similar to the real-time trip-offer experience used by major rideshare platforms such as Uber.
The first version of the driver application is planned around a short response window. A new ride request can appear on the driver's screen with approximately 15 seconds to accept the trip.
After the driver accepts the request, the customer can receive the assigned driver's estimated arrival time and updated trip status.
Taxi Minnesota plans to begin with the driver side of the platform. The goal is to make receiving and accepting transportation requests simple enough to complete in seconds.
A new request appears immediately. The driver can review the ride and accept it without calling a dispatcher.
The customer-facing system is planned around clear digital information from the original request through driver arrival.
Eligible trips can display the calculated ride price digitally after the route and vehicle information are entered.
The customer can be notified when an available driver accepts the transportation request.
Once assigned, the system can display or send the estimated time until the driver reaches the pickup location.
Confirmation, trip information, payment status, and reservation details can remain connected to the same digital booking.
The driver application and real-time digital booking system are not yet available for public use. Until launch, customers should continue submitting transportation requests through the current Taxi Minnesota reservation page.
