Passenger Rights

Service Animals Are Always Welcome

Taxi Minnesota welcomes qualifying service animals accompanying passengers with disabilities on otherwise eligible trips. Drivers will not refuse service merely because a qualifying service animal is present.

  • No routine questioning. Drivers do not routinely ask for explanations of a passenger's disability.
  • No certification demands. Service animal ID cards, certificates and vests are not required under the ADA.
  • No pet surcharge. Qualifying service animals travel without additional pet fees.
  • No discriminatory refusal. An otherwise eligible ride cannot be refused merely because of a qualifying service animal.
  • Animal control. Handlers remain responsible for keeping service animals under effective control.
  • Lawful safety rules. Individualized, legally recognized safety exceptions may apply when justified.
Taxi Minnesota Driver Policy

Our drivers will not routinely ask for service animal paperwork or disability information. When an animal's service status is genuinely unclear, federal law permits limited inquiries; our company policy is to avoid unnecessary questioning and welcome qualified passengers.

Vehicle Accessibility

Wheelchair & Mobility Equipment

Taxi Minnesota does not currently operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles equipped to carry passengers who must remain seated in their wheelchairs during transportation.

Passengers who use wheelchairs are welcome when they can safely transfer into a standard vehicle seat, independently or with assistance from their own companion, and their mobility equipment can be safely accommodated.

Drivers cannot physically lift, carry, transfer or steady passengers. A passenger's use of a wheelchair does not itself justify refusal. Qualifying service animals remain welcome.

Additional Animal Safety

Raccoons & Wildlife Rescue Transportation

Wildlife rescue differs from ordinary dog and cat transportation. Never place a raccoon or other wild animal loose inside a taxi. Contact a permitted wildlife rehabilitator before handling or moving an injured or orphaned wild animal.

Minnesota Rules Part 6244.0400 governs wildlife rehabilitation permits and related activities. Wildlife capture, possession, and transportation may be restricted by law.

Taxi Minnesota does not guarantee wildlife transportation, animal capture or rehabilitation services.
